We’re looking for a front-end JavaScript engineer!

As a front-end JavaScript engineer, you have a passion for combining graphic design with programming. You develop smooth and human-centred interfaces. In addition, you will also be involved in the design of new features along the way. You focus on the further development of a scalable and qualitative solution.

What do we expect from you?

We expect an experienced front-end JavaScript engineer to think along with us about the solution, technology, architecture, processes, etc.

In addition, you are responsible for designing, programming, testing and implementing the front-end part of the application. You are concerned with all the technical aspects, but also with usability and accessibility.

As a front-end JavaScript engineer, you know that good communication with the back-end developers is essential.

What are the tasks of a front-end JavaScript engineer?

  • Translating graphical designs into a combination of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Optimizing applications for performance and scalability
  • Testing the feasibility of functional designs/wireframes
  • Monitoring code consistency and maintaining and improving legacy code
  • Setting up and performing automated tests
  • Supporting the execution of acceptance tests
  • Maintaining documentation
  • Actively participating in technical discussions and assisting with the analysis of front-end-related work
  • Supporting fellow developers where necessary

Your experience and skill set

Experience in managing and scaling applications, preferably with a stack similar to ours:

  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript in Angular, React Native and Expo (web & mobile)
  • Taking performance, user-friendliness and responsiveness into account
  • Knowledge of Webpack and Babel
  • Unit and UI testing
  • Experience with component development tools such as Storybook is a plus
  • Experience with complex projects (different authorisation levels)
  • Experience with Java (Spring Boot) is a plus (to perform simple tasks in the API, if needed)

Level of experience

2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in a growing start-up, scale-up.
